Brazil 1800's About Us Brazil 1800’s was founded by a couple native of Brazil who lives in the Low country area of South Carolina. In the year 2004, during one of their family trips to Brazil'S small picturesques towns the idea of bringing unique home furnishings pieces flourished. The quest for finding home furniture and accessories pieces hand-crafted in solid beautiful woods was the starting point. So Brazil 1800's opened its doors on November 4th 2005 with a mission of making available to their clients a variety of home furnishings products such as exterior front doors, dinning tables, chairs, lamp tables, dressers, antique chests, sideboards, cupboards, night stands, end tables, coffee tables, rockers, benches, armoires, credenzas specially made with unique characteristics and style. The furniture can be hand-crafted or hand painted, made of solid wood ,or wrought-iron, or made from re-claimed hardwood removed from old buildings. Most pieces have a history behind it of how it was created, what kind of rare wood was used,(such as: Cabriuva, Brazilian cherry, Jacaranda,Brazilian rose wood,Peroba, Jatoba), what period of Brazil's history it portaiys. Most of the furniture are replicas of home furnishings. Some are authentic reproductions that date form the 1800's colonial time in Brazilian history from the Portugues Crown during their reign in Brazil. And that's where the name Brazil 1800's came about. Other furnitures are functional pieces such as farm tables used in Coffee Plantations throughout Brazil.
At the beginning of the eighteen and Nineteenth centuries, this unique style of furniture began to emerge on plantations in colonial Brazil. Free from European influence, these Brazilian designs evolved by utilizing straight, clean lines, emphasizing the beauty of the wood.

Today , original pieces and hardwoods from this period are rare and sought after.
